Page 20: House Martell

House Martell rules the peninsula of Dorne in the far south of Westoros from their castle Sunspear. The Head of House Martell, Doran Martell, holds the title of Prince of Dorne. Dorne retained its independence until it joined the Seven Kingdoms through a peaceful marital arrangement.

The Martells have not appeared in the series to date, but at the end of season 3, Myrcella Baratheon/Lannister was sent off to Dorne to wed Prince Trystane Martell, Doran's youngest son.

Myrcella Baratheon/Lannister is to wed Prince Trystane.

Prince Oberyn Martell is Prince Doran's younger brother. He has several bastard children with his paramour, Ellaria Sand. 

Prince Oberyn, younger brother of Prince Doran is known as the Red Viper of Dorne.

Ellaria Sand is the bastard of House Uller a House vassal to House Martell.
