Jon Arryn, Lord Paramount of the Vale and Warden of the East was also Hand of King Robert, but is killed by the Lannisters when he finds out that Cersei's children are not the King's.

 Lysa Arryn (nee Tully), survives her husband. She acts as Lady Regent from the Eyrie until her son Robin reaches the age of maturity. She is Lady Stark's sister.

Despite her enmity towards the Lannisters, she decides to remain neutral during the War of the Five Kings in order to protect her son's interests.

At the end of season 3, Petry Baelish is on his way to the Eyrie with a proposal to wed Lady Lysa Arryn.

Petyr Baelish is now Lord of Hallenhal.
